Research policy and governance

POLICY

Three criteria guide the work of our faculty members : academic excellence, societal impacts, and the responsibility of researchers.

Academic excellence

The research produced at the Research at Esdes must be of high quality. It is both disciplinary and interdisciplinary. The School strongly encourages its research professors to publish in the best national and international journals, especially those listed by FNEGE and CNRS

Societal impacts

Research conducted at Research at Esdes must be relevant to pedagogy, managerial and management practices, public policy and society in general.

In fact, all researchers are also teachers who pass on their knowledge and know-how to students. Teachers are encouraged to participate in intellectual contributions according to their capacity or inclination. These contributions are considered broadly and include textbooks, case studies, and articles in professional journals. However Esdes students are not forgotten since they are often associated with their professors' research. This allows them to discover the work of a faculty in a concrete way and to publish articles from their applied research dissertations.

Because of its privileged position within UCLy (Catholic University of Lyon), Research at Esdes researchers have the opportunity to participate in major projects that have received support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the European Union.

Researchers from Research at Esdes are also involved in projects with foreign universities.

Researcher's responsibility

Researchers at Research at Esdes are responsible for their research and have responsibility as a subject of study. Despite the diversity of their areas of expertise, the overarching theme that brings them all together is Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS). They are accountable for their research and ensure the integrity of their work. It also encourages diversity and inclusion among its researchers, who come from 10 countries.
