Syllabus
Your module coordinator will send you a syllabus before each semester. This syllabus contains the essential information about the course, such as learning objectives, timetable, assessment methods and session descriptions.
Your module coordinator may ask you to draw up this syllabus jointly.
Syllabuses must be strictly observed.
Continuous Assessment (CC)
All teachers are required to comply with the assessment procedures set out in the syllabus. Teachers are required to inform students of the procedures and expected form of assessed work, and to keep students’ work and grades until the jury.
Continuous Assessment grades must be sent: to students and recorded in BAONENS AT LEAST 7 DAYS BEFORE FINAL ASSESSMENT (in the case of final assessment). Only one Continuous Assessment mark is requested in BAONENS, the average of all Continuous Assessment should be entered if there are several.
The correction of the CC must be shared with the students before the final exam.
Continuous Assessment cannot be made up. Students with a justified absence will be assessed on the basis of their other Continuous Assessment marks. However, a student absent without justification will be awarded a mark of 0/20. The teacher is required to check with the school that the student has justified his/her absence before recording the Continuous Assessment mark.
Final examination and grades
Examination papers and evaluation grids must be sent to the schooling department 30 days before the examination.
The schooling department is responsible for organizing the final exam (not the continuous assessments), which are table-top and which take two hours to complete. At the end of the exams, the teachers collect the papers from the schooling department, which gives them an anonymized spreadsheet to return the marks. This spreadsheet must be returned to the schooling department by the deadline specified in the grading schedule.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU COMPLY WITH THE TIMETABLE FOR THE SUBMISSION OF MARKS (here)
Teaching and Learning Meetings
Seminars or teaching and learning meetings are organised throughout the year to share important information and/or coordinate teaching methods. We strongly recommend that you attend these meetings.
Copy Reprography
You must post the content of your courses on Moodle so that students can access them. However, if you need to have documents printed, you must make a request to the ESDES reception desk (which will pass them on to our printer).. THIS REQUEST MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 6 WORKING DAYS BEFORE THE DATE ON WHICH YOU NEED IT.

It is essential to be uncompromising when it comes to discipline in order to guarantee our students a suitable learning environment.
Attendance
STUDENT ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY
To check the attendances, a roll call is compulsory at the start of each course.
Teachers must record absences and attendances on line at the start of each course(tuto ici) / or complete the sign-in sheet where applicable.
Justification for absences is managed by the schooling department.
Punctuality
Students must arrive five minutes before a class begins. This means that teaching staff shall shut the doors to the classroom at the start time of each class Any student who arrives after the start time for a class must wait until the end of the break to join the second half of the class, subject to the approval of the member of teaching staff
Roll Call and absences
To check the attendances, a roll call is compulsory at the start of each course.
Teachers must record absences and attendances on line BAONENS (tuto ici) or complete the sign-in sheet where applicable.
Re-scheduling and teacher absences
If a teacher is unable to give a lesson, he/she must inform the planning department as soon as possible so that the lesson can be rescheduled. Such cases must remain exceptional. Any lesson missed and not rescheduled will not be paid for.
Behaviour and discipline
Teachers must ensure that their classes are calm and disciplined. They must ensure that the following basic rules are observed:
- Students are not allowed to leave class without asking permission,
- Cell phones must remain in bags,
- Speeches may only be made with the teacher’s permission,

In such cases, the teacher is required to notify the schooling department and the head of programme of any exclusion (student and reason).
In the event of a repeat offence or repeated unjustified absences, the student will be called for a Disciplinary Board.
Fraud, plagiarism, use of IA
Le plagiat consiste à reproduire ou paraphraser un texte, à utiliser, même en les remaniant, des figures ou des données produits par autrui en faisant passer cet emprunt comme une contribution personnelle. Afin d’éviter le plagiat, il convient, en cas de :
Plagiarism means reproducing or paraphrasing a text and/or using figures or data produced by another person, even if that text or those figures are reorganized, and passing it off as one’s own work. In order to avoid Plagiarism:
- – when citing a section of text, enclose it in quotation marks and indicate the source at the end of the citation,
- when paraphrasing a text, indicate the source at the end of the paragraph,
- when reproducing or using figures or data, reference the source.
All work must be handed in to the teaching staff in paper form or electronically (using Word or PDF). The member of staff marking the piece of work may use Plagiarism detection software, such as COMPILATIO, to detect similarities to existing texts. For dissertations, the following ethical statement should be copied out and signed at the start of the document:
‘I declare upon my honor that this dissertation is my own work and any direct or indirect reference to the work of a third party, or to GenAI, is expressly indicated. I remain entirely responsible for the analysis and opinions expressed in this document. ESDES neither endorses nor disapproves of this work’
Plagiarism is a form of cheating and is subject to the same penalties as cheating.
In all written work (compositions, compiled files, oral defenses and presentation documentation, dissertations etc.) students must cite all references to GenAI.
– In the text: Students must quote the Identification Reference N° in the IAthèque (the INA AI Catalogue), Tool, Version N°.
– At the end of the document: Students must provide (as per a bibliography) an AI Catalogue listing each reference to GenAI, in the following format:
▪ Identification reference N°, Tool, Version, Prompt2, Date
– In appendices: Students must save their conversations with GenAI (prompts and answers) as raw data and make it available to the teaching staff so that they may check it. In certain cases, students may be required to put this information in an appendix to their work.

The questionnaire covers :
