Professor Olivier Artus, Vice-Chancellor/President of UCLy says, “The arrival of Prof. Vincent Mangematin is excellent news for ESDES. His outstanding academic expertise and his international profile are major assets for ESDES’s development, which has already made significant advances over recent years. The school and the new Dean will also benefit from UCLy’s reputation and its original structure, which combines ‘grandes écoles’ (élite French schools) and its faculty of humanities.”

The new Dean of ESDES explains, “It is rare in France for a businessschool to be part of a university as such is the case at UCly. At a time when it is a priority for companies to seek out a blend of diverse skills, an interdisciplinary approach and unique profiles offering combined expertise, the creation of dual degrees and dual skills pathways responds perfectly to their needs. ESDES offers these unique opportunities to students, whether they are simply sixth-form college leavers or graduates.”

Professor Vincent Mangematin continues, “The school model is also very well-understood in the Anglo-Saxon world, which can only serve to accelerate ESDES’s growing reputation beyond national borders. I am particularly proud to be joining ESDES, a long-standing business school in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region of France, and I am looking forward to assisting and accompanying the school through the challenges awaiting ahead.”

Alumni from ENS Paris Saclay, Vincent Mangematin earned a doctoral degree in Management Sciences at Paris-Dauphine University. He began his career at INRAE (the French National Research Institute for agriculture, food and the environment) where he focused on the management of biotechnologies. He joined the Grenoble School of Management in 2010 as Associate Dean for Research. From 2018 to 2023,he was Dean and Academic Director of Kedge Business School, where he was responsible for teaching staff and academic life.
