Summer school

The 2012 session will take place from June 14th to July 11th, 2012

Follow a 4-week study program  in English.

And ideal combination of management studies, French culture and leisure activities.
This is a four-week program for undergraduate students  in business management, economics, finance or marketing. It  is a marvellous way to add a real international dimension to your studies. You will join a group of students from all over the world who have come to ESDES, situated at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Lyon, to enjoy an ideal combination of studies, culture and leisure.

In addition to the 20-hour French language course, participants study three compulsory modules in finance or marketing, and select three or four more (worth a total of four ECTS credits ) from the list of six elective modules. The total value of the program in terms of European credits is ten, (which equates to about five credit hours in the American system.)

ESDES is a reputed Business School in France having gained a national accreditation as a member of the 'Conférence des Grandes Ecoles', a non profit association of top business and engineering schools.

The program is taught in English (except for the French language module). Students must do all three modules of the Finance or the Marketing course, and three or four elective modules.

Students are expected to attend all the classes they enroll for. Assessment is by course work or assignment (40%) and final examination (60%). In order to pass the course, students must achieve an overall average of 10/20 for the three compulsory modules and for the three or four elective modules.

Discovering France

Spending some time in Lyon in the summer months will give you a wonderful chance to explore one of France's most reputed regions.

The downtown area of Lyon is a spacious city surrounded by the Rhône and Saône rivers, but you will also love the atmosphere of the narrow streets in the old town, where you will find a selection of cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as plenty of pubs and clubs to finish off the day.

Lyon is dominated by the landmark of the basilica on Fourvière hill which is visible from almost everywhere in the city. The city's climate is generally temperate and in the early summer comfortably warm.

Accommodation and fees

Fees are €1,800 per student and include accommodation costs.
Accommodation is in a purpose-built student residence situated a few minutes' walking distance away from the school.
